Spend the 4th of July with Us in Holden Beach

Spending the 4th of July at Holden Beach this year? You picked a good one. July 4th lands on a Saturday in 2026, which means a full weekend of celebrating up and down the coast. Staying in one of our Holden Beach vacation rentals puts you close to all of it, close enough to make a day of it, and close enough to be back on the sand by sunset if you’d rather relax. Below’s what’s happening nearby this year.

Ocean Isle Beach Parade & Fireworks

Ocean Isle Beach throws one of the most fun, low-key 4th of July celebrations around, and it’s an easy trip from Holden Beach. The parade will line up at Town Center Park around 9:15 am and will begin at 10:00 am, heading down East Second Street. Some of the things you can expect to see are decorated golf carts, bikes, and a few creative floats. Judges will hand out trophies for the best ones, so the competition gets surprisingly serious.

This year, the fireworks show will happen on Sunday, July 5th at 9:15 pm, launching from the Ocean Isle Beach Pier. You can watch from the beach or pretty much anywhere on the island. We suggest that you bring beach chairs, blankets, or towels so you can sit on the sand with the family to watch the show.

Southport’s NC 4th of July Festival: A Bigger Deal in 2026

This one’s worth working into your trip this year. Southport’s festival runs from June 26th through July 4th, 2026, and since it falls on America’s 250th birthday, the town is pulling out all the stops. You’ll find the flag-raising ceremony, a veterans’ recognition ceremony, live music, food, and activities for the kids, just like every year. But this time around, they’ve added extra programming to mark this milestone.

Admission is free, but we suggest bringing some cash for food trucks and vendors. If you’ve never experienced the 4th of July Festival in Southport, this is the year to do it.

Wilmington Fireworks at Riverfront Park

Wilmington’s celebration moved to Riverfront Park (right by the Live Oak Bank Pavilion at 10 Cowan St), and it’s a full evening, not just a fireworks show. Things will kick off around 5:00 pm with the Wilmington Symphony Orchestra and other entertainment, and fireworks go off at 9:00 pm over the river. Bring a blanket, grab dinner downtown beforehand, and find a spot along the Riverwalk. There’s room to spread out anywhere along it, not just right at the park.

Plenty is going on this 4th of July without having to stray far from Holden Beach. If you haven’t booked your stay yet, check out our Holden Beach vacation rentals today. We’d love to have you and your family stay with us this Independence Day.
